Untuk mengisi celah ini, interventional pain management (IPM) hadir. Pakar nyeri dari Klinik Nyeri dan Tulang Belakang Jakarta, dr Mahdian Nur Nasution, SpBS, menjelaskan IPM adalah subspesialisasi khusus dari tatalaksana nyeri. IPM merupakan prosedur invasif yang minimal yang dapat memberikan kesembuhan yang permanent atau jangka panjang.
Setelah sukses dengan jaringan klinik rumah sunatan 38 cabang – seluruh Indonesia dan Mahdian klemnya, pria kelahiran Medan, 19 April 1976 ini kini fokus pada bidang kedokteran bedah saraf, serta intervensi nyeri dan tulang belakang. Tak terhitung jumlah pasien nyeri yang ia tangani, dari metode yang paling sederhana hingga high tech seperti endoskopi. Meski diketahui hanya sedikit dokter di Indonesia yang mampu mengerjakan prosedur endoskopi tulang belakang ini, ia yakin kelak teknologi ini akan membawa perubahan besar dalam memperbaiki layanan kesehatan di Indonesia. Saat ini puluhan pasien Herniated Nucleus Pulposus HNP atau awam mengenalnya sebagai saraf terjepit sudah ia tangani dengan metode endoskopi. Pemulihan yang cepat dan hasil yang memuaskan bagi pasien serta minimnya komplikasi membuatnya bersemangat untuk terus membantu pasien. Meski sibuk, alumi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia ini tetap menyempatkan diri untuk berwisata bersama keluarga tercinta. Wisata dimaksud adalah wisata religi seperti umroh, bahkan dilakukannya hampir setiap tahun. Menurutnya dengan berwisata religi, selain mendapat penyegaran fisik, rohaninya juga menjadi lebih tenang.
